This subject is designed for students who want to enhance their knowledge of maritime technology and the human element, and safety.
Since the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, maritime technology has continued to advance rapidly. To address the various challenges faced by the maritime industry, new technologies are constantly being developed, introduced, and applied. As these technologies are adopted, it is essential for users to become familiar with them. In this process, the interaction between the development of technology and its users has emerged as a critical area of research.
This course explores maritime technology and the human element, as well as the relationship between them. It examines relevant regulations, policies, and technologies, identifying existing gaps and highlighting the research needed to bridge them.
This subject will, in the first instance, be delivered on campus. However, where a particular cohort of students is resident in another country, the delivery may use a blended learning approach (on campus in Malmö).
